Consumerism culture exploits environment



Ranchi: To maintain pseudo prestige in the society, unnecessarily we are adopting materialism culture which has adversely effected our environment. We are all culprit because since a long time, we are taking advantage of our natural resources for our better artificial life style and in this race we are harassing our nature, said HRD Minister of Jharkhand Baidnath Ram in the inaugural session of 4th International seminar on “Anthropogenic Impact on Environment and Convention Strategy” in Ranchi on Friday, organized by national Environmentalists Association with the joint collaboration with department of zoology R.U and department of zoology and botany St. Xavier College Ranchi.     As a chief guest in this seminar Ram stressed to implement the outcome of such seminars in the ground level and to ensure the responsibilities toward the nature. He said that the environmental imbalance can be reduced by plantation only and it can be in practical when we will understand our duties for the nature.     In the inaugural session of the seminar Prof. C De Brouwer welcomed the participants by his speech and stressed in the necessity to re change the environmental parameters, he said that such seminar in the state will enhance the environmental awareness among the people.Prof. S.K Sen of Vishwa Bharti, Shanti Niketan,Dr. D. Raha (Australia) and Dr. Shivlok Goswami of department of Zoology, Cuttak University has been awarded by “NEA research fellowship” while dr. M.C Dash has been awarded by life time achievement for about 120 international research and 80 national research.       In this program V.C of Ranchi University Dr. L.N Bhagat, NEA secretary Prof. K. Barar was also present.
